Homemade trays

Ever feel completely lost when it comes to the art of gift giving?? Well I sure do. In order to conquer my feelings of being an inadequate gift giver I went to Ben Franklin:) Perusing the aisles chalked with creativity and talent a thought hit me, I can do these things too! I decided to make some gifts for Christmas and Birthdays and found it was a rather fun project.

Step 1. Buy a plain wooden tray (I found some at Ben Franklin for $6-10, Joann's fabric $5, and even goodwill $3)

Step 2. Decide on a color scheme

Step 3. Buy the paint. I simply used craft paint, found at any craft store ($1-5 per bottle)

Step 4. Decide what kind of pattern you would like

Step 5. Buy stencils or something to create a pattern (something you trace, or if you're a great artist you can paint your own designs)

Step 6. Get to work!

This last tray is covered in tissue paper. I used Madge padge.
